‘The Youth Elixir’ Smoothie


The smoothie is very rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. If you’ve got used to sweet, fruity drinks, you may be a little bit disappointed as far as the flavour is concerned. The smoothie has got quite a sharp taste and some of you may feel as you were eating grass. But, I like grass ... Mooooo!

The elixir of youth? Needles to say, just look at the list of the ingredients!

Ingredients: 
  • 1 orange
  • 1 apple, with skin but deseeded
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 large handful of spinach, kale and parsley
  • 3 florets of broccoli
  • 1 celery stick
  • 1 tablespoon wheatgrass and moringa olfeira (optional, or you may use other superfoods such as chlorella or spirulina)
  • 3 teaspoons nettle honey (recipe here)
  • 1-1,5 cup mineral water 

Preparation:
  1. Wash all the vegetables well and put in a blender. Peel the orange and cut into pieces. Deseed the apple. Add to the vegetables.
  2. Add the superfoods, lemon juice, nettle honey and water and blend everything together until you get a smooth cocktail.
  3. Serve and enjoy J 
You can refrigerate the smoothie in a jar for up to two days.
