I love granola, but I don't like the store-bought version. And this is for one simple reason - it doesn't contain even the half of the wonderful ingredients I have on my list here.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups wholegrain rolled oats
- 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
- 1/2 cup hazelnuts
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup flaked almonds
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 2 heaped tablespoons sesame seeds
- 4 tablespoons flaxseeds
- 4 heaped tablespoons rye flakes
- 1/2 cup muesli mix, e.g. dried bananas, coconut, papaya, nuts, etc.
- 3 tablespoons raw honey
- 1 heaped tablespoon coconut oil
- a pinch of salt
Preparation:
- Mix the raisins, hazelnuts and muesli mix in a bowl. Set aside.
- Mix all the remaining ingredients well and put on a lined with baking paper large tray.
- Bake in a pre-heated oven , 175˚C, for about 20 minutes, tossing the mixture every 3-4 minutes to prevent from burning and enusre the granola is golden and crispy.
- Let it cool and then, mix with the raisins, hazelnuts and muesli mix.
- Store in a large glass jar.
