Granola


I love granola, but I don't like the store-bought version. And this is for one simple reason - it doesn't contain even the half of the wonderful ingredients I have on my list here. 

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups wholegrain rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup flaked almonds
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 heaped tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 4 tablespoons flaxseeds
  • 4 heaped tablespoons rye flakes
  • 1/2 cup muesli mix, e.g. dried bananas, coconut, papaya, nuts, etc.
  • 3 tablespoons raw honey
  • 1 heaped tablespoon coconut oil
  • a pinch of salt

Preparation:

  1. Mix the raisins, hazelnuts and muesli mix in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. Mix all the remaining ingredients well and put on a lined with baking paper large tray.
  3. Bake in a pre-heated oven , 175˚C, for about 20 minutes, tossing the mixture every 3-4 minutes to prevent from burning and enusre the granola is golden and crispy. 
  4. Let it cool and then, mix with the raisins, hazelnuts and muesli mix.
  5. Store in a large glass jar.
