Booster Tonic


Winter is fast approaching and with a common phenomenon of unpredictable weather, we are likely to experience many health ups and downs.

Lavender has soothing and calming properties. It has been used to treat headaches, insomnia, anxiety and nervous disorders. It's also proved to have anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, as have ginger, honey and cayenne pepper.

Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon dried lavender flowers
  • 3 cups boiling water
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey, or more to taste
  • a pinch of cayenne pepper

Preparation:

  1. Place the ginger and lavender in a pot and pour over the boiling water. Let it steep for about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add the lemon juice, honey and cayenne pepper. Stir well until the honey has dissolved.
  3. Strain and drink. Enjoy :)





The tonic can be refrigerated in a glass jar for up to two days.
