Garlic-herb butter is an unbeatable accompaniment not only to grilled or roasted meat, but it transforms the flavour of any cooked dish such as risotto, pasta, vegetables, fish, etc.
I've used dill and parsley but you may opt for other herbs and possible alternatives are coriander, sage or thyme. Also, to bring out the full aroma of herbs, go for unsalted butter.
Garlic-herb butter - a fantastic way to preserve the essence of herbs and add a powerful punch of flavour to your food.
Ingredients:
- 250 g unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped dill
Preparation:
- Press the garlic and mix with the butter and herbs. You can use a fork, mixer or food processor to do this.
- When thoroughly mixed, spoon the mixture on a sheet of cling film, roll and shape the butter into a log.
- Refrigerate for at least an hour, but the longer you leave it, the more flavoursome it will be.
- Slice and serve with roasted/ grilled meat, fish or vegetables.
