Shop-bought nut milk can be expensive but the main minus of it is that it often contains a lot of artificial additives and sugar. So, why not make your own? It takes only two ingredients and a blender.
You can easily substitute cashews with almonds or walnuts. The milk is great with muesli, porridge and puddings or super comforting and tasty as a drink itself.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup cashew nuts, soaked overnight
- 750 ml water
Preparation:
Boil the water and allow to cool slightly. Blend with the almonds until smooth. Then, pass through a sieve. Refrigerate or freeze the pulp if you wish to use it later.
The milk will store in a fridge for 2-3 days.
The recipe makes about 800 ml.
