These crackers are soooo gooood that I find myself mixing seeds with water quite often these days.
They make an excellent snack anytime and anywhere. You may spread some of your favourite dip on top or just eat them as they are - plain and crispy.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup chia seeds
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/2 cup sesame seeds
- 1/2 ground almonds
- 2 cloves of garlic, pressed
- 2 teaspoons freshly chopped herbs (I used parsley)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 250 ml water
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 170-180º C and line a large baking tray with baking paper.
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and let the mixture stand for 3-5 minutes. (Let the seeds absorb the liquid a little bit before baking).
- Pour the mixture onto the baking tray and press down with the back of a spoon until it is 5 mm thick.
- Bake for 30 minutes, remove from the oven, cut into crackers using a knife, flip them over and bake for another 25 minutes.
- Take out of the oven and cool completely before serving.
Store in a sealed container for up to two weeks.
The recipe comes from 'I quit Sugar' by S. Wilson.
